This is what sets us apart from most other farms, whether traditional or modern. We have always considered that we get our essential micronutrients from the foods we eat. These are generally vitamins and minerals. However, very few of us are aware of the quantity of these micronutrients that our bodies need and moresoever , aboslutely have no clue of what nutrients are being delivered to us through the food we eat, their quantities and their adequacies. You can check this out here.
Thus, through BioFortification, we are topping up the vitamins and minerals being delivered throught the produce we cultivate. Be it iron, zinc or vitamin c, all our produce delivers denser nutrition compared to traditionally or modern farms. This ensures you get more with every morsel.
Food we eat, can largely be classified as one that is grown domestically and the other where we rely on the rest of the world for supply. Considering seasonal farming patterns, geographical distribution and storage, most of the food consumed by us is either frozen, refrigerated, chemically treated for ripening etc. which also results in wastage and deterioration.
Our techniques allow us to cultivate all we do, around the year in a controlled environment. It also thus allow us to carry our deferred farming, which essentially means we get a fixed supply of each crop each day or week. This allows us to give our clients a forecast of the produce that will be available on a future date, thus reducing wastage, storage, other processes and ensuring that you always get the freshest produce possible. It also invariably impacts our carbon footprint. Further, we are working on setting up multiple farms where the long haul supply chain is largely eliminated.
We cultivate using approximately 90% less water, compared to traditional farming. We do use some electricity, however we are aggreseively working to switch to sustaiable energy sources like solar and wind. Our processes ensure no soil degradition, so lateral wash off and no soil nutrient depletion, no pesticides that affect crop, soil and water. Furthermore, we produce the same output, at a sooner place and save about 87% of ground space for the same, if not a larger volume of crop and are ideal for urban regions. Deforestration for farming has to be curbed. Furthermore, we produce year round, like you consume year round.
Tagged, Mapped and Tracked. From the source of the seeds, to their journey upto your table, you will be able to track the ultimate journey the produce has gone through. You can know more about the farm it was grown at, the carers at the farm and anything the produce has been associated with during its lifetime.
At the farm, technology will dominate research, food testing and manage the farms end-to-end. Technology and software will be critical in making the produce nutritionally far superior than anything else known in the farming worlds. This will enable us to further on all of the objectives mentioned above and allow for continious improvement.
